What is girl news?

75% of news is about men.
If we continue at this rate, it’ll take over 75 years to reach parity.

I’m Blair Arbuckle, and I made Girl News to change that.
Because what we consume becomes our reality.
And if we don’t know what’s going on, how can we possibly form opinions, be heard, or make change?

If women are the source or subject, it’s Girl News.
Positive, negative, or neutral, I want you to know what’s happening with women worldwide.

You’re probably wondering why I’m always running.
(that’s fair)

I started after I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer, just 7.5 months after her diagnosis.
I couldn’t imagine living the rest of my life without her,
so I tried to do the second hardest thing I could imagine: I started running.

6 marathons and 3 ultramarathons later,
running makes me feel strong, reminds me body is mine,
shows me I can do impossible things, and, most importantly,
makes me feel closer to my mom.

This year, I’ll be running the Cape Town marathon in May and the Sydney marathon in August,
both while raising money for the American Cancer society.

I’ll also be continuing to build Girl News, ensuring that in a world owned by boys, you stay updated on girls✨

Thank you for being a part of this journey.
Thank you for caring about women,
thank you for caring about my mom,
and thank you for caring about me.
I am so grateful to build Girl News with you 💖
